"Few things truly fall into the realm of impossibility. It doesn’t make it any less dangerous," she murmured softly. With the book balanced open in one hand, her other palm lifted and brushed a few locks back behind the nook of her thrice-pierced ear.

"Any archaeologist able to wrap their mind around otherworldly theories had a stake in the Shield. I mean … an object that can turn a man to stone? It’s so deliciously … Grecian. Anyone would want that beauty in their collection - despite how difficult it’d be to display. Even myself.”

She closed the distance between herself and Steve, holding out the book so he could look down at its pages. “I’d look for any well-funded archaeologists doing work along the coast of Greece - especially around the island of Spetses. If you can pin down who may have found it, it’s only a matter of interrogating and investigating.” Being this close, he’d be able to smell the scent of jasmine that clung to her, tainted with a hint of something else - gunpowder?

Steve crossed his arms and listened to the woman quietly, interested and captivated by the story. It was becoming clearer and clearer to the Captain why Lara had the position she had. She could hold a room’s attention easily” Peering over her shoulder so he could see the book as well.

"That’s the kind of thing we’re looking to avoid. If an organization like Hydra were to get their hands on a weapon like that, we’d be up a creek without a paddle.”

There was a lack of distance between himself and Lara, all of his senses studying the woman. What was she up to? Her scent had gunpowder on it too, a scent he knew all too well. Was it fresh? Steve suddenly felt a bit guarded as well.
